Finding inspiration isn't hard when you have a best friend that will share art and design sources on a daily basis.
Ursula and I met online by following each other's blogs and discovering that we were practically neighbors in Tucson, AZ.  Our first meet-up was a trip to an antique fair.  I remember reaching for the same item at each and every booth.  That was over three years ago.  We are still reaching not only for vintage treasures but for business goals and daily finds that keep us going.
I'm sharing Ursula's latest find... antique mug shots via Etsy.  She sent a few shots and wrote, "Will you draw some of these? Vintage mug shots... I'm in heaven!!!!"  I replied. "I LOVE those!!!! I will certainly try!"
Not long after, I tried my hand at the shots.  While mine do not do the originals justice, they are done differently.  I really enjoyed sketching these gals and am excited to try more.  I am also excited for what ever Ursula sends next.  She is an incredible woman and the best partner in crime!

  1. I just can't get enough of them! they show the shame (or pride!) of their crime on their faces and in the way that they hold themselves. I'm thrilled with your drawings!
