You Sentimental Idiot

It took me a long time to learn how to keep a sketchbook.  It sounds silly, however, it took me a while to learn to put the book down... to walk away and save for another day.  That's what sketchbooks are all about after all.  In the past I'd sketch, not like something, and then tear out the page.  I'd have a clean start.  Then, after many occasions where my daughter and husband would find my mistakes and place them back into my books, I realized that maybe I shouldn't tear pages out.  It was hard at first, but I finally learned how to leave a drawing alone and shelf it.  The sketch above is an example.  This was an old pencil drawing that I recently decided to sharpie.  I'm happy to have learned a lesson.
